College Students from the Science and Mathematics Discipline are Less Comfortable Using Instant Messaging and Blogs

In a study conducted by Towson University researchers, it is revealed that Science and Mathematics students differ in their perceptions of comfort level using certain technologies compared to students in other disciplines such as Liberal Arts, Education, and Business and Economics.

The first chart below shows the percentage of surveyed students in each discipline agreeing or strongly agreeing that they were comfortable using instant messaging to contact their professor. The second chart below show the percentage of respondents reporting feeling comfortable being involved in a non-course related blog as an activity in their course work.
